Ginny Marshall loves to cook. When she started sending lunches to work with
her boyfriend, his co-workers repeatedly asked him where he'd gotten his tasty food. His
answer; "My girlfriend's kitchen". And thus, an idea was born. In August
of 2004, Ginny opened My Girlfriends Kitchen for business, working out of her home at
first. Ginny was born and raised in Slidell, and wanted to bring lunch and dinner delivery
to the area. Word of mouth spread, and soon My Girlfriends Kitchen was getting orders
with delivery addresses like Slidell City Hall. With orders of that volume, Ginny made
the leap to a commercial location, where her business would have room to grow.
My Girlfriends Kitchen serves the very best food every day. While their main
focus is on delivery to businesses, they have many private customers as well. They're also
working on expanding their facility to include dine in.
Don't forget about catering! Over the past year, My Girlfriends
Kitchen's catering services have become as well known as their delicious delivery. There's
an extensive catering menu for parties up to 100 people. My Girlfriends Kitchen will cater
to your needs; just call in advance to discuss your needs with Ginny. Be sure to call in
advance during the holidays in particular, as last holiday season they were so busy they nearly
had to turn people away!
As a native Slidellian, Ginny Marshall feels strongly about
community involvement and participates in many community events and programs. The Hospice
Foundation of the South's Crawfish Cook-Off, a Cross Gates Athletic Club benefit, Toys for Tots
and Adopt a Family are a few of the activities My Girlfriends Kitchen has supported just in the
past year.
My Girlfriends Kitchen opens at 9:00 a.m., and the first delivery run goes out
around 11:30. There are three delivery people, and Ginny's more than willing to work with
your schedule if you need to receive your delivery at a certain time, just be sure to call and
let her know. If you know they'll be serving something you love, feel free to call ahead
and order early...even a few days ahead, to make sure they don't sell out. With the many
popular dishes served, there have been a few times when they've been completely cleared out!
Real food for real people...delivered right to you. That's
