If you've never
been to KY's Olde Towne Bicycle Shop, you've been missing out. Then again, you could, if
you're a long time Slidell resident, have been to the location back in the 1950's when it housed
a grocery store, or later when it was the Slidell Bicycle Shop. That's right, KY's Olde
Towne Bicycle Shop indeed was once a bicycle shop, where many Slidellians remember they got
their very first Schwinn.
Today,
however, KY's Bicycle Shop is a bustling bar and grill, and has been since May 2, 1992.
This month's LaGumbo HotSpot also celebrates its 13th anniversary of satisfying hungry tummies
this May, so be sure to stop in for delicious goodies.
Owners Linda and Kevin Young describe KY's fare as casual, high
quality food with a lot of variety. Everything on the menu is popular, from the freshly
made burgers, to fresh Gulf fish, crisp inviting salads, delicious roast beef and nachos to die
for...and that's just naming a few of the menu items!
You'll find all kinds at KY's. Kids, seniors, ball teams, dinner dates and
families frequent the restaurant. Centrally located in Olde Towne Slidell and a true slice
of Slidell history, it's charming and fun, the food is delicious, the service is wonderful, and
there just isn't a reason NOT to dine there. Not even dieters have an excuse, with a wide
variety of grilled meats and seafood and fresh salads that won't affect your waistline.
If you haven't been to KY's yet, what are you waiting for?
It's a favorite place in Slidell, for food, fun, history, and more. We're delighted to
feature KY's Olde Towne Bicycle Shop as our LaGumbo HotSpot for May. Happy anniversary,
KY's!!!
