As soon as you walk through the doors of Mandeville's Caffe Caffe, it hits you...the aroma of fresh coffees, delicious desserts, homemade soups, fresh baked bread...you've found one of the most popular places to eat on the Northshore.
We recently visited Caffe Caffe, where manager Jennifer Berzas welcomed us with a smile.   As we enjoyed two of our favorite items, the Shrimp Salad Sandwich, served on Caffe Caffe's fresh baked croissant, and the Caesar Salad, complete with delicious homemade Caesar dressing, Jennifer joined us and gave us the inside scoop on this favorite Mandeville eatery.

Gerard and Lisa Beck opened the first Caffe Caffe in Metairie at 4301 Clearview Parkway eleven years ago.  Five successful years later, they branched out and opened the Mandeville location, this month's Louisiana Gumbo Hot Spot.  It's been nearly six years, and the Mandeville Caffe Caffe is more popular than ever, their delectable food even overshadowing their gourmet desserts and coffee.

Caffe Caffe has a complete menu of fresh made foods.  Each day, they prepare two unique homemade soups from scratch.  Their breads are fresh baked, their vegetables are the pick of the crop, and the portions are incredibly generous.  Among the most popular tasty treats are the Avocado Salad and Chicken Salad Sandwich, desserts such as the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and Caramel Cake, wonderfully fresh brewed coffees, along with the Freeze, a cool frozen coffee concoction.  When the chilly days of winter come along, warm your heart and give your tastebuds the gift of their Red Velvet Cake, available during the Christmas season.

In addition to the many locals who name Caffe Caffe as one of their favorite eateries, they've earned the attention of such publications as Zagat's, Coffee Crazy, where Caffe Caffe was named one of the top 100 coffee houses in the country, and The Gambit, where their salads were voted among the best in the New Orleans area by Gambit readers . 

            

Caffe Caffe is also available for catering.  Call ahead and they can provide you with just about anything you need for your meeting or event.   They even have the Java Box, which holds 16-18 cups of coffee, perfect for that morning meeting.  Mini dessert trays, whole cakes and pies are available as well.   Gift certificates are available, which are perfect for those "hard to buy for" people on your list, and their gift baskets make a great gift for an added personal touch.
