In 1855, pastry chef Christopher Henry Miller opened the Miller
Candy Company in New Orleans. The name was changed to Elmer-Miller around the turn
of the century, and finally Elmer Candy Company in 1914.
Elmer's now concentrates on seasonal chocolates, with Easter favorites Gold
Brick, Heavenly Hash and Pecan eggs outselling national leaders five to one along the Gulf
Coast. |
